Yes, it is made out of glass, and yes it vibrates! Somehow this thing does not shatter. Once I got over my fascination with it, I was impressed by how large and hard it is. This is a thick dildo and the little nubs makes it feel even thicker. I like thicker toys so I like this better than all of the thin little vibrators available. Because it has the glass covering, I can stick it in some ice cold water and get the dildo nice and cold before I use it. The glass holds the temperature for a while, even though my body warms it up pretty quickly.
