Potassium alum is a common herbal treatment for hemorrhoids, so anyone suffering from hemorrhoids would definitely benefit...but witch hazel is a lot less expensive. It's also an antiseptic, astringent, and commonly used as a deodorant. Considering it has the ability to kill bacteria, I'm not sure you'd want to use it vaginally too frequently (depending on how much is used at a time). If you kill off all of your "good" bacteria, you'll develop yeast infections...which'll make sex a lot less appealing to both participants!
