These beads are not soft at all.They are hard plastic.It's easy to clean according to the description because when you pull the beads apart they all separate.But it seems that if you were to do that on accident while using it...it would be really really painful.i pulled them apart and those little beads pinched my fingers.The only good thing about this product is the vibration I guess.
